End of year message from the Commissioner

2016 has been a rewarding and productive year of seeing increasing numbers of positive outcomes and service improvements through complaints.

We have valued the opportunity to work with people who made complaints to our office, and with services to resolve complaints in ways that safeguard people’s rights, support their recovery and improve services for everyone.

We thank those who shared their lived experience and knowledge with us, and we also thank our newly formed MHCC Advisory Council for their time and willingness to share their expertise.

We wish you a safe holiday season, and look forward to continuing our work in realising our shared vision of a system that sees complaints as an integral part of improving quality, safety, and most importantly, people's experiences of mental health services.
